Is it really worth joining the military to help pay through education?

i've seen some websites say that joining the military to get an education and a good job is a load of bull**** because you have to qualify to get a certain amount of money. I was just wondering if anybody went down this road, was it the right choice? i want a job that i will be happy doing, not something i dread like mopping floors at a mcdonalds.

YOU SHOULD ONLY JOIN THE MILITARY FOR THE RIGHT REASONS, WITH FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM & THE LOVE OF YOUR COUNTRY IN MIND, THE MONEY & EDUCATION IS SECONDARY IN MY BELIEFS
Joining the Military is always a good choice, on anyones behalf... You are going to get to pick the job you want to do, you are not going to be stuck mopping floors unless you get in trouble...I dont know about the getting a certain amount of money thing everyone that joins get the GI bill, and you pay 100 dollars a month for that for the first 12 months.. You need to just talk with your recruiter or go to the Military page of your choice and you can speak with an online recruiter... good luck and thank you for thinking about the Military
IF you can make it back in few enough pieces from this war to continue your education it might.
Don't join for educational reasons....join because you are a patriot and believe in what your country stands for....I serve next to some of the bravest in this country and none of them care about education at that point...we just want to kill the enemy and make a major impact on the middle east
Well as stated before you get the MGIB which helps pay for college, with certain jobs in the military you can get a enlistment bonus or the other option is if you have been through school already and have the college loans and are trying to pay them off they offer you the bonus you'd get but instead have it put towards your college loans it's a higher a mount then the cash bonus but it's a thought. I do not regret the day I enlisted nor the reasons behind it. Though I will say think it long and hard cause once you sign and leave there isn't a real way to get out of it.
By joining the military for an education, you CERTAINLY won't be mopping floors when you get out! You will, however, have to WORK for that education, especially in this day and age! By joining the military now, you will have to serve most likely, have you thought of this? They offer you an education, but it comes with a price, and it MAY just be your life!!!
Think of the reasons you want to join. If all you want is an education, reconsider, you have to serve your country first.
Is it really worth joining the military to give you an education/ career/trade. It all depends on what you want to do in the military and do you have an idea of what you want to do when you get out. just remember you can join ARMY ,NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINE and COAST GUARD. Active or reserve.. If you want a trade try Navy Seabees . Talk with a recruiter and study for an ASVAB
