Im in full time education and have a part time job? |
im being taxed about 拢80 a month, my mum says i shouldnt be taxed that much but i dont think i should be being taxed at all no-one else at work is and there the same age and are in full time education. How much you are taxed depends on your other income, if any. You have not stated how much you earn. You may be paying basic rate tax. This will mean you have a tax code of BR, and all your earnings are subject to a 22% tax deduction. If you have no other earned, or unearned income, and do not have any outstanding tax liabilities, then speak to your payroll administrator. Your payroll adminstrator may be deducting tax, if the tax code the Inland Revenue has given them is BR. If you do not receive a refund, and amended tax code, and you believe the tax being deducted is wrong, then contact your tax office, and arrange to complete a tax return, which you will not be able to complete for 2006/07 until after 5th April 2007. If a tax refund is due, and you do complete a tax return, remember to tick the box requesting a refund, in order to receive the overpaid tax back. Otherwise, this may be held to be used at a later date. |
