Hate my jobs. How do I find one that I don't hate? |
I went to a tech college for a 2 year diploma. I'm now working as a eng drafter/designer and it's really boring. I've had a few jobs doing this type of thing and some are better than others but still not satisfying. I want to do something else, something that I like....but I've got no idea how to start. I feel like I'm stuck doing this type of thing because of my education and experience. I've done a few job survey test things and it always comes back artistic/technical/design/eng (exactly what I'm doing!!??)....It's what I like, and it's what I'm good at....but it's so boring!...I don't get it. Dude, I hear you. I'm in a similar boat. One thing to think about is that statistically, the people with the highest job satisfaction are those people who are challenged daily, NOT the people who chose a job/college major based on innate abilities (like I did). The example I read (on this forum actually) was of somebody who was really good at math, so naturally she went to become an accountant. It was the most grueling, boring, unsatisfying work she could think of. Try to take online assessment test that gauge your personality, such as the myers-briggs based tests. There are several free ones online. Just Google it, or search for Myers-Briggs in Yahoo Answer's search engine. Other posters have referenced and linked to it before. Good luck (to both of us). Try management in your field. Then you can direct boring people. Otherwise, just start applying to jobs that sound interesting to you. Something might pop up. most people hate thier job I do most of the time you need to use your passion! What excites you, what interests you! then work from there first step is to write down a list of theses things then figure out which jobs are related to them! For example my passion is socialising.... i work in a restaurant! You just need to figure out what makes you happy. You may need to consider something completely different such as working for the Police or the FBI. That should bring excitement and bullets to your life. These agencies are very good at putting people where they belong. They will let you shoot a gun as well !!!!!!!!!! See u shud do wat u kno and enjoy best, there is no other way to it if u feel u reli like a certain thing or believe u have talent for it then u shud go for it. its the only way u'll ever love the job u want to do Have you taught about working for yourself. There are many things you can do that are not what you are doing now. The way I did it is I am an independent of a company, which means I have a company to take care of all of the large things that owing your own business comes with, one of the biggest cost is start-up. I love what I do, make my own hours and all the the things that make working for yourself great. There are many things to choose from, because many companies do this, you should be able to find something you like.
