Now a days do u think education is more important then job? |
Now a days do u think education is more important then job? It depends on the person. I went to college and have both worked and been a stay at home mom (I am currently homeschooling my teenagers). The job I had was stimulating, challenging and exposed me to a variety of experiences, beliefs and cultures. Education did the same thing. You don't necessarily need an education (higher education - you pretty much do need to be able to read, write, do basic math, etc) but you do need education to be well rounded and appreciate other cultures and beliefs. Now, wait. Before you get all heated thinking that I am saying anyone who has not gone to college is socially stunted and not able to appreciate other culture and beliefs, hear me out. Education can be found anywhere. Each time you surf the net and check out something that sparks your curiosity, you are educating yourself. Each time you look up some unknown word in the dictionary, you are education yourself. Each time you watch a program on the Discovery Channel or History Channel, you are educating yourself. True, a DEGREE helps you get a better job, but an EDUCATION is not as tangible and can not be as validated - except by how you present yourself. A job can help you make money and support your lifestyle, but what if you choose not to work? What if you decide, like me, to homeschool your children? Then an education is more important. Bottom line, a job is limited, an education has no boundaries. Of course not. Where in the world do you think you will get the money to fund your education? Education is important in the long run if you plan on getting a higher salary but in the present time, having a job would be better than an unemployed Harvard graduate. I dont know what you are getting @ but education is very important if you want to secure a well paying job. I think now you have to go into college with a "im here to get my ed. to get a good job" type of mind set. School is no longer leisurely. You are there purely for one purpose. Learn proper grammar. Job oriented education. Both are important, many people believe that education means more money. Totally untrue. I was a professional without a degree working making more than many degreed individuals HOWEVER I was limited in a job that was not what I found to hold my interests or passion....so back to school for me. Education opens up opportunities that you may not have had without it. I think education is important but I think job experience is even more important. Education is important in getting training you need to do certain jobs and is needed and is no way to get into certain jobs if you don't have them so it's important for that but job experience is just as important. I've realized this after graduating from collage. Although I may have a degree, I don't have job experience, and because of that it's hard to find a job. It seems that alot of jobs and companies look for and want job experience. They want people that they know they don't have to train much and know that the person they hire had enough background physically in the job to do it. So, I think for people about to start higher education or are in higher education schools right now, they should strongly think about working while they are in school, rather work study, volunteer job, etc related to the field they are working to get into. It seems even this is looked for at some graduate schools as well so it seems people who have experience in things rather then just in schooling have the upperhand and it's a good idea to do so while in school so that when a person graduates, the likelyhood of landing a job is even more so because when an employer looks at applications and sees someone who has a long history of working in a field and someone who jus thas schooling.. it would look better if it's someone has schooling and also some work experience. So, I think in the end what I'm trying to say is that both education and job experience is important. they are both important....simply, without education you won't have any degree that would get you a good job....now many people think:" oh yeah i can work in a grocery store without having a degree"....but if they think of their future as indepedents, they would feel the importance of education |
