In Toronto, how much does a foreign college student earn in part time jobs ? |
I am a student from India. I am supposed to join Sheridan College (Trafalgar Road Campus) in Oakville, near Toronto from September 2007. I will have a 20 hour per week work permit which I will need to fund my education. I need to know what kinds of jobs are available for college students and how easy\hard it is to get such employment. And more importantly HOW MUCH does it pay PER HOUR? My special skills include Digital Image Editing, journalism, proficiency in English and playing the guitar. Will it be possible to get work in these fields or do I have to do generalised work like waiting, pizza delivery, sales etc. Also I need to know, what is the living cost per week for a student in Toronto, living with a room mate. And how does one commute daily from Toronto to Oakville (Trafalgar Road), how much time does it take and how much does it cost daily. I urgently need these information and if anyone with living experience in Toronto could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Depends on the job. If you are looking at part time fast ffod, expect to be paid minimum wage ($8hr). You need to shop your talents around to find a position that works for you and negotiate the best wage you can ...
