How much money would i make if i majored in psychology and health science/education? |
is it likely i would get good paying jobs related to those majors. I plan to continue education to get a masters in psychology. My dad says I should do elementary education. He says its more practical, i would get a good paying job more easily. Is he right? What your dad thinks doesn't matter. YOU are the one who will have to go to work everyday and it should be at a place where you enjoy the work you're doing. Do what YOU want, not what your dad wants. It depends on what job you're wanting to get in the psychology field. A psychologist makes good money. A regular therapist wouldn't make as much as a psychologist, but they still make pretty good money. A psychologist, though, is a PhD. The salary varies depending on what job you're doing. I think most teachers start out around 30K, depending of course, on your county and state. Your school advisor could probably advise you further. If you are smart and you understand your subjects well...as long as you are determined, I'd say pursue your own dream. You would make lots more money in psychology. It depends on what you want to do. And just because you get a diploma in something does not instantly make you qualified for a job. You could make any amount of money really depending on what you did. However, to put it to a realistic range, $40,000 to $60,000 per year. If you got your masters in psychology and became a therapist, you would make more, above $100,000 per year possibily. No he isn't, but neither are you. :) You would be better served to get a Master's in clinical social work, then you can do counseling psych or teaching. I have a MA in clinical psych. |
