State of Texas helping with education?

This question for those of you who work or have work for state of Texas.I work in entry level position that requires a high school diploma/GED as correction officer for TDCJ if I want to further my education later date are there any scholarships or grants from the state to help me pay for at least the classes I will need so I can one day advance into higher level jobs that require some a degree or some kind of post seconday education?

Most of the government sponsored scholarships I've seen have been somewhat discriminatory in that they give preference to one race, gender or college major. They could force you to major in something such as criminal justice. I think your best bet would be to move into an internship type program. These programs will usually require you work for minimum wage for 20 or so hours a week. In return they will pay for your school. Good luck. Source(s): http://www.daylon.com/scholarship/...

one scholarship you could try.
