What jobs should a college student who is studying to be a childhood education teacher have? |
what jobs should a college student who is studying to be a childhood education teacher have? which types of jobs that deal with children? If you're taking night classes, get a job as a paraprofessional in a classroom. If you're in a state where you can substitute teach with just a HS diploma, do that for a while, even before you take classes, and open yourself up to all classrooms. if you can, decide what you really want to do within the field of education before you take all the classes. I wish I would've. I'd have a lot less in student loans now if I would have. I am an elementary education major! You should see if they have any work study jobs open at your college. They might have some teachers aid positions. At my university, we also have an elementary after school program where a lot of college students work. You could work at a daycare. A babysitting job would be good to give you more experience w/children and would also help you to be more prepared to be a parent. I just graduated college and got a teaching job. All of the principals that I interviewed with were impressed with my work experiences with kids, so I can give you some good advice! Working with an after school program is a great college job. You get experience working with school aged children. This looks great when trying to find a teaching job. It's usually pretty easy finding a job in this area especially if you look at private day cares that have an after school program. It's a great college job because your hours are usually set, it doesn't take a lot of time, you still have nights and weekends free, and a lot of day cares are flexible with your school schedule. |
